ok i love ordering from zipzoomfly.com. i need a new heatsing for an LGA775 socket (if thats a socket, thats my socket). what do u suggest?

i'd go with a scythe ninja. it is the best air cooler on the market, if u dont believe me use search and look up some temps. i used it for my P$ 3.2 prescott, with stock cooling and stock speeds it idles at 55 load at 60. scythe ninja had it down to 40 load 50. if u dont have good airflow in your case its still okay, just get a 120mm fan and add it on and it'll lowere your load temps more. freezer 64 pro has some good reviews but i doubt its as good as scythe ninja

But be ready to fight with it installing it...

Another alternative would be the Thermaltake Big Typhoon, which is quiet and cools well. Or you could buy a Thermalright XP-120 or SI-120 and provide the 120mm fan of your choice (something like a quiet Nexus or Yate Loon fan).
Typhoon: http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/ProductDetail.jsp?ProductCode=370497
XP-120: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16835109118

A newer option for Intel boards is the Zalman CNPS9500 AT, which uses a 4-pin PWM motherboard connector so that the motherboard can monitor and adjust the fan speed of the heatsink, just like it would with the stock heatsink.

Note: ZipZoomFly carried the regular CNPS9500, not the newer AT model, and as far as I can tell, they do not carry Thermalright products. Check out Newegg.

Well, the Scythe Ninja is on a whole other level from the Freezer 64 Pro, and AC designed it likewise. The freezer is cheaper but is still a very good product, for those who don't need the top of the line cooling.

I know...I was like WTF???

Yeah, Freezer 7 Pro works well. Got a Freezer 4 for parents' 3.0 GHz Northwood and saw 12C idle temp drops with MX-1.

Stock Intel cooler is loud, but get a Freezer 7 with a Fanmate II, undervolt to make it run @ 1400-1500RPM, and you're all set.
