My computer is downloading without control

I connect as always to the internet through my modem connection, and my computer start to download something. How can I control this ? It already downloaded about 5 mb. What's going on ?

erm, do you know what it's downloading? any dialog boxes? i'm guessing, but it may be something like windowsupdate, or your virus updates.

Just a guess here..... but could some 1 be downloading for you?? ie do you have a firewall??

I resolved the problem by making a new dial up connection
