*HUGS*

Everything is going to be okay!

Maybe it's the power supply and can be fixed. Then it will be alive again! :)

Couple of things worth trying since they work on a machine I have with this occasional problem:

Push and hold the power on button in for about 15 seconds. Release it and try to power on. If the machine has a power switch on the back where the power supply is turn it off, then hit the power button, then turn the rear power switch back on and try to power on normally.

that sucks
maybe the power switch is screwy?
maybe the PSU just needs to be switched?
very unlikely that your computer is right fcked.

I had this problem once and this has worked for several other people. The computers would not work at all, the power switch did nothing. I unplugged my tower, went to work, a couple hours later I came home, plugged it back in and it worked fine. What worked for another friend was to unplug the tower and press the power button a couple times while it was unplugged. Maybe one of those will work for you. Good luck.

I had a similar problem twice on Gateway towers where the switch behind the power button got pushed back (cheezy Gateway clip system) and all I had to do was open it up and super glue it into place, it's worth a look.

Your power supply probably just burned out. If you have an older machine laying around, trying hooking up the older power supply to see if the motherboard get's any power.

oh yea, and try using a different power strip and outlet, maybe the circuitbox blew a fuse or the power strip blew out a thermosistor

In the last year, I have seen this type of thing twice... (no boot, totally dead) and it turned out to be a screwy NIC both times.

just yanked the NIC and the computer booted up. with the NIC in, the monitor wouldn't even get picture... yes, both times!

If I were you, I'd take the power supply out of your bro's and try that...if not try something else until you reach the cause of the problem...

Then tell your bro his machine died and just use yours...j/k or am I...muhahahaha

I don't know if you'll read this red, but a thread disappeared yesterday that we were in. Did you remove it?

No I did Justin Daves and I'm going to remove you too as a returning thief and troll

Open the powersupply and check the fuse, it is not too uncommon that the solution is that easy...

Good luck..
