in the day i game and surf the net and its fine only when i leave it alone is when it freezes the only thing thats runing in the background is Emule and Trillian

I do get brown outs When I turn on my tv or just dooing nothing. MY computer froze when I was surfing the internet and the cpu was at 42C and it froze again . I uninstalled all the uguru and abits stuff from my comp and it is still crashing. It was working fine until I reinstalled windows then all of this was happening.

so basicaly ur computer is freezing up because you reinstalled windows...have you tried updating mobo bios and video card drivers? speak better english lol

Maybe you have a bad keyboard. It is quite obviously typing the wrong letters. By the way....did you go to public schools?

What is crasing? 😛

Go down this list:

1) Drivers <- some are buggy, get latest from websites and try them... try removing/disabling hardware to see if you can narrow it down to a specific component or driver.
2) Power issues <- hard to test, get a better power supply. I'd spend most of my time on #1.

I would start out suspecting #1 as I just had to deal with a crappy drive for the on-board 1 Gig NIC in my Asus board. I updated it from Windows Update and it took out the PC (locked up -- often overnight) hard. I had to go find the right version out on Marvell's website. The one that works is:

Marvell Yukon 88E8001/8003/8010 PCI Gigabit Ethernet Controller
v8.25.1.3
4/1/2005

All of the new versions caused lockups and I think this one still has some bugs. I only really noticed this when I started maxxing out my cable modem downloading things for days straight.

the PSU is crap but how about turning your computer off to save some electricity? or do you just like to put your AOL away message on so people know you're sleeping otherwise all your buddies will miss you?

ofiraltarasy, You should perhaps reinstall Windows. Or do a "Repair Reinstall" if this really did happen just after you last reinstalled Windows.

looks like your psu if its crappy enough and it dies it could send tons of power thru your whole system fryign everything this is why you should never go cheap on your psu. when you installed your processor and heatsink what and which did you use did u use the thermal compound or a pad that was already on it? seems to me it's either his psu or overheating i wasnt aware that x2's run at 57-59 and that was considered cool i belive that is hot with a temp like that it would cause my chip to burn.

edit: just tell you ur not gonna have to use all of that 300buxs a new psu would cost no more than 150 a processor heatsink and thermal compound with likely cost 50 buxs. maybe that isnt the problems maybe It's software try to run you pc in safemode when you go to sleep i am cursious if it crashes.

Maybe i just didnt catch it as i skimmed over the thread, but i didnt see anyone suggest the video card as the problem.

Grab flashlight, pop open the side of your case and flash the light towards your video card fan... I'm betting it's not moving at all.

Same thing happened to me. woke up one day and my computer is frozen at the desktop, restart and it's fine, CPU temp is fine, few minutes later it freezes again. Popped open my case and my 9800pro fan was dead, poked it a few times and it started spinning. problem solved. (had to replace the fan completely shortly after.. it died completely)

But that wouldnt explain why his temps are going up to 59C on the cpu (not saying it cant be the vid card, but 59C is pretty high for a cpu thas not overclocked)

ok it is ruffly 76F-81F in my house. I have my 2 rear fans as an exsuast I have my side and front as intake and my top fan as an exaust. How Can I check my video card temp?
