Thats not a stereotype. Thats a fact. A stereotype is usually negative
No, that IS a stereotype. Stereotypes don't have to be negative. Saying that Asians are good at math is a stereotype, yet it's not negative.

If you are referring the comment about hair color, that IS NOT a stereotype. It is a factual physical trait. Let me give you an example.
Most white people smell like baby powder - stereotype.
I have have NEVER heard this one.Originally posted by: Slvrtg277

Most white people have less melanin than black people - NOT stereotype, but physical trait.

You need to look up the definition of stereotype. Hair color is not a factual trait since you can change your hair color. Isn't there a subculture of asians with blond hair that immitate western cultrue? Anyways, you can say that subculture has a blond stereotype, and their asian.Originally posted by: Slvrtg277

Wait, so black people having bigger feet isn't a stereotype either?
Depends on whether or not it's factual.Originally posted by: FleshLight

Heck, some of the definitions INCLUDE phsyical traits.
Stereotypes are just generalizations, they can be good/bad/fact/fiction.

I think you are the one who needs the dictionary on this one. Being able to dye your hair is irrevelant.

*sigh* OK, but I actually DID read the def. before I posted, so I know WTF I'm talking about. Case in point (all from google.com search "define: stereotype").
"A mental image that often exaggerates the traits of a typical member of a cultural group." Goths for example color their hair black. There is a stereotype where dyed hair is relevant. See the asian example I gave above. Show me the difference. Here is also your definition of traits, which you excluded before.
"A conventional, formulaic, and oversimplified conception, opinion, or image."
"a conventional or formulaic conception or image; "regional stereotypes have been part of America since its founding""
"A stereotype is a belief about an individual or a group, based on the idea that all people in a certain group will act the same way."
Here are three defs. that do NOT include false or deragatory information. They can be factual as well as ignorant.
Next time you want to make someone read something, you ought to try yourself first. I know I did.
"most" isn't very qualifying. Either way, a statement can be both factual, and stereotypical. I would think your "most asians have black hair" would be both. However, it's still a stereotype since not ALL Asians have black hair. See?Originally posted by: Slvrtg277
Actually I did too, and the same exact way you did to be honest.(define: stereotype)I didn't look up "trait" though. Either way, my point was that the statement about MOST, MOST, MOST, Asian's having dark hair is not a stereotype. It is a fact.
 to you though for at least doing some research like I did before posting speculation and calling it fact.

Ok we have to agree to disagree here because I think that in order for that statement to be stereotypical, it would have to either read "all asian's have black hair", or just simply "asian's have black hair".
The word "most" is the key word IMO that deems the statement fact, with no stereotype.
