I Took my computer to my friend house and he had a defective part in his comp the mobo so he wanted me to test his parts to see if they were functioning so i got his ram same kind as mind and now i have 4 gigs ok then he whanted me to test his videocard i swaped my ati for the nvida 6800gt and then it would not turn on my mobo the abit fatilaty gave me an error of E8 so we unpluged the 2 power connectors the spliter to the video cards pci express conector and it powered on . I have the aspire torbo case power suplie that came in my comp and so i swaped it out with the one he bought the antech smartpower 2.0 and it was working flawlasly and then I used his parts for awile. Then I put my parts back in and now the internet does not work nothing works the davise manager is blank and it gives me an error when i try to reinstall the ati DRIVER. IT was working then i restarted and then it gave me all the errors.the classic windows them came up so then i tryed to fix it but it did not work. I tryed to reinstall my graphics driver and it said faild to instaleld.
Should I reinstall windows?
 
No but you need to learn how to properly attempt to format a paragraph, seriously you are lucky I read that.

You need a new power supply. Yours is cheap and not high quality at all.
 
hi i know im not the auther but he it was my friend that wrote it for me i dont have internet, but now im using my laptop, and i dont give a crap about my psu rite now i will get a new one but not now i just need help with the software issues
 
basicly i put his parts in my rig and it was working fine when i got home everything was working finne when i restarted my windows theme went to clasic so i tried to fix it from display settings and it didnt work so then i rememberd to install my driver for my graphics card because his driver was still installed, after it wouldnet let me install it, i tried to do it in safe mode and that didnt work either so then i went back into windows and was going to ask you guys but my internet wasnt working so i checked my internet conections and nothing was listed i went to my device maneger and nothing was listed then i put in the CD for my mobo and it didnt work either. So what should i do ???? reinstall windows????
 
Sounds like windows got corrupted. Rather than doing a full re-install, try doing a repair install, it will keep all you data and programs intact, and resolve your driver issues. Sounds like you didn't un-install the graphics drivers prior to swapping the video cards around.
 
i cant he lives in miami and im in fort lauderdale so i can realy go back i dont have a car and i have his CD for his card
 
i cant repair windows he gave me his version of windows that came wiht his alienware is XP pro but when you put in you dont have any options it just goes streight to formatting the HD and installing windows, so basicly im screwed???
