This was my 5th year going to Comdex, and the most disappointing. They didn't even have exhibits at the Sands Convention center! I spoke with 2 major vendors when I got back, and much to my surprise it wasn't the fear factor. It's hard to understand tightening my belt, when computing is my favorite hobby!
