I thought about doing this same thing one time when a promotion was coming up and since I sucked at my job I had to get the better candidate wacked.

Long story short, the guy got canned and they hired someone for the pomotion because not only did I suck at my job but then they found out I couldnt mind my own F#@&ing business.

I caught him once, looking at the stuff and when i came back to his computer to check his history, it's all gone. And he does that all the time (delete his browser info).

Is there any programs/methods to see what he is actually viewing? I don't want to load another software on his computer unless it runs in the background secretly..

Your the kid we used to beat up for snitching on us about the fireworks. Get a life and leave people alone.

And if those kids are disabled, the only sites they would visit are Anandtech OT and MySpace.com

Some (most) of the responses in this thread are beyond stupid, ignorant and just plain dumb. If half of you people bothered to read the thread or knew of life outside your homeroom/frathouse, you'd realize you simply CAN NOT do things like this at work.

OP has stated he works with children, and many of you still respond with comments saying "so what?"

Well here's an idea. 1 kid sees some of the stuff thats being looked at, no matter HOW he sees it, lets just say he does. Parent(s) get word of this going on at the school. Raise holy hell, school is shut down, OP loses job, kids lose school, etc etc.

All because 1 idiot at work couldn't google up Paris Hiltion on his home PC. He HAD to do it at work?

Too bad you don't have Loss Prevention. They prevent any "theft"...and his offense would be time theft. Being that would warrant or "allow" me to check his computer or install small pen-tip sized camera. If you do not sound reason or the privilege to access "his computer" or do any of the above, I'd watch out for any lawsuits. There are those who are going to think its obscene to think that he could sue you, but this is America...and yes, if he has a great lawyer and some money...he could sue you if he loses his job and such. I'd document everything and know my own rights before I do anything to invade his computer or personal space.

Using hidden cameras, I've seen a manager and an associate have sex in one of the rooms...I've even seen a Loss Prevention Detective look at a dirty magazine and "grow hair on his palm".

Okay, if he's doing it anywhere around kids then it's definitely a problem. I do find it odd that a PC which the kids are allowed to use doesn't have porn sites blocked.

My other question is why you even need to gather any more "proof" if you personally saw him doing it. If you're planning on him denying that he did it, how is having the sites in his cache going to prove anything. If he's alleging that you are flat out lying, then he might as well say you must have visited the site yourself. Nothing is going to prove undoubtedly that he was surfing porn on that computer beyond a videotape of him doing it.

yes, and this is why I refuse to work in the corperate world ever again. Too many people who want to snitch you out. Not because it's right, but mostly because they can get some brown nose points.

I finish my work eairly, I have no work to do, they don't let me leave eairly, I'm going to look at n0rp or play some silly Flash game. The code of the office should resemble the code of the street. Snitching is the lowest thing you can do.
