It would probably be worth something if it were in better shape.

Might as well melt it down for the silver. :\

So you're $1.44 richer and about a week closer to death thanks to Wendy's food. Sounds like a fair trade.

Cool find. I always save interesting change I get. I found a 1899 quarter in a corn field a few months ago. It was in almost perfect condition. Funny thing is I wouldn't have found if my instrument wasn't being a wise and beautiful woman, and made me walk back to get it sorted out. I went from pissed off to happy within 10 minutes.

what the hell are those coins on the right?!

we don't have those in canada.

Pennies but the material they're made out of is worth more than the coin's value so they got rid of it and think it was a good move. I'm sure the US will do the same eventually.

What's funny is US pennies often find their way in Canadian change but it's just treated like a normal penny.

No one wants pennies aside from traditionalists that want them cause they were always around. I have sympathy for that position, but minting pennies is just pissing money away. Life would be better without them.

What year and mint mark?
If you're lucky, some meth head stole it from his grandpa's collection and it's rare.

Meth heads will bring in a roll of silver dollars or other silver and cash it in for cigarettes at gas stations, etc.

1936. I don't have the coin on me. It's in the gun safe with the rest of my silver. But in the pic in the OP, it might be Denver.

What? No more Canuckistan pennies to make their way into US circulation?

I still get them all the time...youse terrerests keep spending your "worth less" currency here. :colbert:

Rounding to the nearest five cents makes sense to me.

That would be fine...except in states that have sales tax...getting rid of the pennies will automatically raise prices...$1.99 becomes $2.00....and sales tax...will be rounded up to account for it.
