My Chances

Hey, wanted to know what you guys think my chances are in terms of me getting into the U of I school of business. I have a 29 so far on the ACT (i just took one, it was easier it seems) and im in the top 15% of my class, by a thread, but im there. I had experience at the CBOT over the summer as in intern, and work in a small shop during the school year. I know U of I isint known for their business school, from what i hear, but what do you guys thinkabout me getting in?

I got in, 1530 SAT, 3.8 unweighted GPA (I took all the honors/AP classes, no bonus points for thems).

I don't think its that tough to get in, expecially if you have some experience as an intern, etc.

I went to Rice instead.

i am unfamiliar with Rice, and damn, you got some high scores dude

When I was applying (over 8 years ago anyway) anything over 25 on the ACT's plus a good GPA/class rank was good enough to get you into just about any program short of hardcore degrees like EE/CE/ChemE/ect.

A 29 is quite respectable for an ACT score.

i have a 29 on ACT also but i'm trying to get into engineering. i doubt i'll get in though.

I had a 31 in ACT with 4.0/4.0 High School GPA and Georgia Tech Industrial Engineering declined me. Now I think about it, I wish I applied for business school in the first place. I could have gotten in a Top 25 Finance program.

Weird. I had a 1340 SAT and 3.75 GPA and got accepted into GT's EE program. I did have about 3.5 years of work experience, but it wasn't related to EE really. I am from Montana though, so that may have something to do with it. After a year at Tech I transfered back home to U of Montana. Much happier now.
