Its alot easier to prove something than disprove something.

For example, if he wanted to prove that Fox News actually put something that stupid on their ticker all he would have to do is find a picture. I find this to be alot more reliable than just "I saw this one thing one time and it said stuff something along the lines of XYZ."

Instead do you want me to prove that they didn't run that type of thing on their ticker?

That's practically impossible to do.

Look at every single one of those pictures listed in the Daily Kos story and tell me which you think is more plausible:

A: Karl Rove (or insert some other random shadowy Republican figure) is hidding away in some secret office in Fox News cleverly editing the ticker to shape the public's opinion on key issues.

or

B: Some poor schmo with carpal tunnel getting paid 8 to 10 bucks an hour to type up the captions and the ticker on the news that screwed up and put down D instead of R, or Not Guilty instead of Guilty as if thousands of people are going to go to work tomorrow thinking Scooter Libby really didn't do it because of Fox News......


Common.....

I watch CNN and MSNBC on a daily basis and see typos and misspellings every single day.

Please tell me that you have more evidence than this.......

I don't care about the screen caps. That's why I didn't reply to your flip dismissal of them. I mentioned them merely to reinforce how disingenuous your demand for links was.

I did, however, point out that your equally flip dismissal of the news sources study was based on a dishonest straw man. Contrary to your claim, the study was NOT about what people think of Fox. It was a scientific study of the correlation between one's primary source of news and the accuaracy of one's beliefs, with Fox viewers being disproportionately misinformed. That is a fact, no matter how desperately you want to reject it.

Finally, note that you continue to make bogus arguments above, e.g., your "just making things up 24/7 like you guys claim." Really. Who made that assertion? Show us the quotes supporting this claim or we'll assume you're still incapable of addressing actual points raised.

I will spare you any pretense of mock surprise that Fox News is ridiculously biased against the Kerry campaign. But it's one thing to know it and another to get such a blazing and undeniable example of it as a story with fabricated Kerry-bashing quotes put together by the Fox News reporter covering the Kerry campaign.

(Carl Cameron, the reporter in question, according to Fox spokesman Paul Schur, is Fox's 'chief political correspondent'.)

But it brings up a point raised in an article by Howie Kurtz a few days back.

On Monday Kurtz discussed a study by the Center for Media and Public Affairs that showed that Fox News coverage of Kerry was overwhelmingly negative.

Kurtz got these quotes from Cameron's boss Brit Hume ...

Brit Hume, Fox's Washington managing editor, whose "Special Report" was examined by the study, says he's surprised by the anti-Kerry findings. "Our day-in, day-out coverage by Carl Cameron has been extremely fair to Kerry, and the Kerry campaign has recognized this," he says.
"We did a lot on the Swift Boat Veterans. We thought it was a totally legitimate story and found it an appalling lapse by many of our competitive news organizations that were treating that story like it was cancerous." But even there, Hume says, "we were abundantly fair to John Kerry's side."



"Extremely fair" to Kerry? "Abundantly fair" about the Swift Boat stuff?

The same reporter who made up these 'Kerry quotes'?

"Didn't my nails and cuticles look great? What a good debate!"

Kurtz could do us all a favor and get Hume on the horn to see if he's still willing to call Cameron "extremely fair to Kerry."

More good stuff from Fox. Was Cameron in on this one too? Fox News took a Kerry-bashing Republican group called "Communists for Kerry" and interviewed a 'member' of the group as though it were an actual pro-Kerry group.

Sample quote: "Even though he, too, is a capitalist, he supports my socialist values more than President Bush ... The North Koreans are my comrades to a point, and I'm sure they support Comrade Kerry, too."

In a version of this article that was published earlier, the Communists for Kerry group was portrayed as an organization that was supporting John Kerry for president. The first half of the article is a big thumbs up for John Kerry from Fox News.......

As far as Bill O'Reilly's talking points memos I don't see what the big deal is. Do you not know the difference between a news analyst and a journalist?

O'Reilly, Olberman, Matthews, and Cooper are not paid to be journalists they are paid to analyze the news. In doing that, their entire programs are OP-ED and cannot be considered factual in any way to be honest.

What's there to man up about? Where did I say "you wont find any!" or anything of the sort? I simply said they slant like everyone else, and that most in here take op-ed pieces and somehow think it's being reported as news. Why do you ask, did FOX fire someone for their ineptness? Why no, they didn't bother with accountablility of their "reporters" .

Besides, according to the secretary (who was in a position to know which neither you or I can claim) the contents of the CBS documents were at least accurate.

That *is* pretty weak. A thread with Fox and Fox ONLY in the subject, and you're all still whining about other, equally worthless news channels.

Summary : if you watch network news, you're an idiot and should be considered a candidate for euthenasia.
