My CD-RW is giving me blue screens I think....

I have an Acer 6x4x32 CD-RW it specifically comes with Nero as the burning software, but I lost my Nero CD, so I installed Easy CD creator, but it gave me a lot of errors, so I uninstalled it and finally installed Nero, and ever since then when I boot up with WinXP, it says my CD-RW drivers were disabled because they were the wrong type or something, but I thought I uninstalled Easy CD creator....and sometimes when I try to burn a CD with Nero, I would open the program, put the blank CD in, and WinXP would come up with a blue screen...how do I fix this problem?!!

I think there are still some of the Easy CD creator files on my computer yet I uninstalled it...anyone know how get rid of easy cd creator fully?

Sounds like you could do try a couple things. First I would reinstall the easy cd. Then uninstall it with the uninstall in the easy folder. Even if this is what you did the first time, as with installs, it sometimes can miss a file. If this doesn't work, do the same thing but remove it using the control panel/add remove. Finally go thru the registry. Could something in the reg keep nero from loading or enabling the drivers if left behind?

I'm not familiar wth xp, dont want to be for now, too many probs. anyway, is there a way to update or enable/disable the drivers like in win98?
