So after beginning my journey to my CCNA exam, I started helping others get into networking. At first, for me at least, I had no idea where to start. Everything on google was jib jab and words I had no idea what they meant. So I started this blog, both to keep me motivated, and to help others find their way through the maze of getting started! I'm going to be doing daily updates on every class I take so that people can join me on my adventure into networking!

My CCNAdventure blog!

Day 5! Introduction to Binary!

Day 4! TCP/UDP Includes a fun exercise applying our knowledge in the command prompt!

Day 3! Includes a PDF of my organized notes to give you some more great information!

Day 1 & 2

Allow me to introduce myself! My name's Trevor!

Questions and comments are appreciated. If you enjoyed the read, what did you like about it? If you didn't enjoy it, tell me why!

trevorkian, your material looks interesting, but we have specific rules against self promotion here. If you want to post your material here that would be fine, but posting links to your blog to drive traffic there is not okay.

Thank you for posting this. I am in the beginning stages of a college course on CCNA, and am always looking for material that will help me. I am about 5 weeks shy of finishing up this semester and my head is already reeling from trying to grasp and apply everything we are learning. I really think at my age it is much harder to pick up than my much younger classmates...lol

Right now we are just learning the routing and switching stuff, and now we are into learning CIDR and subnetting etc.

Again, thanks for posting!

I just got access to CBT Nuggets CCNA course for the new test.

Its pretty cool.

Other sources I've used are Chris Bryant's course on Udemy.

https://www.udemy.com/ccna-on-demand-video-boot-camp/#dashboard

Make sure you pay attention. Udemy wants $125 for the course, but Chris will sell it to you for $44 using his code Bulldog60.

Chris really wants people to be able to take his course and seems less interested in making max profit from this.

He provides labs and practice quizzes. He will also answer any questions you have and is currently working on workbooks for the course that will be $5 each on amazon.

He's a good guy.

I don't really have anything much to say about CBT Nuggets other than I like videos and I haven't watched more than 5 minutes of the first in the course. Will report back when I have time to go over it.

Well, I was told not to post links to my blog :\. If any of you would still like to follow me. I update my posts on www.reddit.com/r/ccna every day, and they usually flip up to the top of the page. You can contact me via e-mail (trevorsovetskymusic@gmail.com) Or in the comments section of my page. Also, if you have any links to sites that would help others, even if it's your own blog. I would encourage your greatly to post them in the comments section for everyone to see!

Hey thanks a lot! I'm glad this helped you in some way. I found it really can help to be reminded of what you learned in the form of a written out journal entry! I may be catching on quickly... But it's not easy. I turn each 1 hour class that I take into a 4 hour process of stopping to take notes, writing and editing the blog post, and then posting it on different websites to help others! Beyond that, I have quite a few hours put in to replying to my viewers to help them better understand their studies for CCENT!

He did say that I couldn't post links to my blog, this is rough for me because some of my posts on my blog are long and would really clutter up a forum post. Beyond that, I already spend a lot of time on trying to get the information out there to help people. To have to copy, paste, and format my posts in order for them to fit well enough here would be a lot of added work. I just want to help people in a simple way. There are also a lot of links on my blog that I've used to help me on my way through CCNA so far. To have to post all of those on here as well would just be a lot of unneeded work that could be bypassed simply by allowing me to update when I put out a blog post on here.
