My cat Tux vs. fire

Ok so I lit some candles in my fireplace last night and this is the first time my cat Tux has had any dealings with fire. He is a kitten so he is still VERY curious about anything that moves or sounds like friction. Got a video of him playing with the candles and he finally figures out how to put the flames out. Maybe someone will enjoy 🙂

Oh and dont worry, no cats were harmed in the making of this film... much.

Tux vs. Fire

Hahaha, I love cats. They are curious about everything. Definitely one of the smarter animals.

My cat used to jump up to the kitchen counters by way of the stove. One day, we had just finished cooking something on the stove, and he jumped up there, turning the gas flame on in the process. I don't know how but I picked him up between the clicking and the lighting and prevented an early death. We then ordered some child safety knobs for the oven and put aluminum on the oven for a week when not using it. He hasn't jumped up onto the stove since then, but it sounds like my cat is not as adept at defeating fire in battle as yours.

Haha that is awesome. But this is why I dont leave candles out because my cats wouldnt bother putting the fire out. They would tip the damn thing over and burn the house down.

We had a cat when I was younger that jumped onto a wood stove as it was being used. It scared the cat shitless. As in, the cat was so startled that it shit immediately onto the stove and jumped off, haha.

My cat once set his tail on fire with a candle. So much for a relaxing bath. Instead I had to chase the cat across the bathroom to put his tail out...He was oblivious to his peril. Pic of cat.

My dad was clearing a field of grass by burning it. The cat was laying at the edge, we saw it and its hair was smoking, yet the cat was laying their. We ran over to it and grabbed it, the cat jumped down onto the ground, stretched and walked away with its hair still smoking. Had to use water to put out the cat.
