My cat ran away

how long has he been missing? Cats usually find their way back to their homes, even after being lost. At the old air force base I used to live on, I was coming back from the vet with my cat, an I stopped at the base video store. Well, my cat got out, and I couldn't find him. That was about 1 mile away from my house, and the next day, he showed up on my doorstep.

Mostly Patience. I had a cat run away once and he was missing for about 6 months, one day on my way to work I found him sitting atop my car, he started rolling around on the hood purring and glad to see me as I was to see him. Cats are survivors, so dont worry about him too much. Leave a window open if you can and enjoy the smell of the house without the litter for a few days.

Wow -- six months. I was hoping he'll come back soon. He likes to go outside and sit in the sun and I let him. He's stayed out for as long as two hours but have never ran away. Well, this time, he decides that he's not going to come back. I hope he comes back soon. I miss him so terribly. I can't leave a window open right now because I am cat sitting for a friend but I will leave one open when my friend's cat goes home.

Thanks for the support!!!

There's a thing called a cat trapper or something. Contact a local breeder or kennel and ask them what they would do. You might want to place an open can of tuna out for your pet. That might bring it back.

Well, unfortunately, the Tuna will probably be gone before I get my cat back. I have squirrels and racoon in the neighborhood. Also, wouldn't a cat trapper trap someone else's cat??? I am going to check the pound tomorrow. I guess what I can really do is wait and see, huh?
