My cat OD'ed! (Update: Doc says he'll be ok...sorta.)

Don't know about catnip and big cats, but we get our cats high on occasion.

They'll hang out in the living room with us for a little while until they've had enough, then they'll get the munchies and go to their room to eat and pass out.

My friend had a cat who used to get high with him. After about a year it was pretty obvious the cat was permafried. The thing would come in, meow, forget to stop the meow, then about 10 seconds later realize it couldn't breathe because it was still meowing and stop. It also used to randomly do its business and look sort of nonchalant about it. Kind of funny until you had to clean up after it.

That's a little funny in a sad kind of way.

It's one thing if the cats are there on their own while someone is smoking but forcing them to get high is just plain wrong.

Yes. My brother used to grab his cats and blow smoke in their faces, which I always thought was pretty fvcked up.

Two of our 3 cats just hang out in the room for a little while, EVERY time my wife and I start smoking, then they leave once they've had enough. We always hear them eating in their room a minute later.

I'm of the opinion that if they didn't like it, they would take off immediately, like the 3rd cat does.

I hope everything works out for the cat... I'm kinda worried about mine. The wife and I are getting ready to move next week, and our cat has been an outside cat for several years. I dont' know if we should try to convert him to an indoor cat or just hope he doesn't run off.

I used to grow catnip. They grow pretty big and have lots of flowers. The bees just loved it. My cat would roll in it or eat some of it, but not get too much in her. She would go haywire when on catnip.

I feel your angst. I'm contemplating moving from here and my cat's an indoor cat. Although if I moved back South, she would be wanting to get out in the woods behind our property,which isn't a good thing in general for cats.

Damn, I've never heard of a cat OD'ing on catnip. Hope he's ok man. Our cats turn into rock em sock em robots when they have catnip. Funny as hell. Sit there stare at each other and them WHAM, round one.
