My cat-- morning field drill

My cat goes insane for like 2 hours every morning,she dashes thru the house at break neck speeds,knocks things off counters and shelves and just in general acts like a total freak.

Is she practicing hunting tricks or what?

she is now "hiding" behind sheer curtains and looked shocked that I actually spotted her.

No, cats are just mentally challenged.

My roommate's cat in college would suddenly get a derranged look on her face, and then sprint up and down the hallway, bouncing off of walls and furniture. Or, you'd look down from your chair and see her coiled, with her eyes completely dialated...that's when you knew you were about to be viciously attacked.

Then again, my dog poops on the floor when I take a shower. So, lets just say animals are dumb.

lol, I had a cat that used to sleep on the tv set and would roll off and fall on the floor,he did this daily.. now that is mentally challenged! This is different,it's like some sort of drill workout routine.

My dog does the same thing, but for a shorter amount of time. She hauls serious ass around the yard for about 5-10 minutes every morning, then goes back to bed.

She would benefit frome a playmate. They do that because they desire some interaction. My 2 cats get in the 'mood' and instead of hauling ass around the house they wrestle the crap out of eachother!

Sounds like the cats doing just fine on her own. Our cat plays quite a bit with us, even when we don't want him to. Rather than a pain I consider it comforting to know that I'm spending money on a happy, active animal. I hear horror stories about people with cats that won't come out from under the bed except to eat and crap. I wouldn't want to waste money on something like that.

My cat runs around the house for about 10 minutes after taking a dump. It's like she feels light weight and wants to enjoy the super high speed running after dropping a load in the box.

Both of our cats are 11 years old, and every once in a while, (gets less frequent as they get older) they get a "wild hair in their ass" and do the same thing...go zipping thru the house, bouncing off walls, acting like little kittens again...then, after a few minutes, (or after someone actually notices and speaks to them) they calm down and go back to their normal "ignore everyone and act important" routines...
Yep, I think it's some type of temporary insanity...

Is it an indoor cat? My cat does that too. I call it her "flip out and kill sh!t mode" She will run at the slightest movement or noise and find some random object to attack and try to take it with her like shes running from a bear.

Put down some oversized glue traps in high traffic areas. Works for mice, probably for cats as well.

At least that's what I would do if I had a cat running around my house.

Yep. Have two cats (not related) and they share the exact same behaviour. Suddenly will get all spastic, darting after invisible bugs, making sudden excited cat noises, look around all paranoid, run down the hallway and jump off of the walls. The jump happens as they hit 88 mph.
