My cat passed away today. Her name was Fart. She was a good cat. Fifteen years old, but she had stomach problems and her body couldn't take it anymore and quit on her. Poor thing.

R.I.P. Fart

Sorry to hear about you cat, but why the hell would you want to take a cat to a college party?

There was a thread recently about someone who stepped on a kitten at a party they were having and it died as a result.

That's bad news. Sorry for your loss.

I almost lost one of my cats back in April. He stopped eating and after $1k at the vet, they found nothing wrong. 3 days before our vacation, he started eating again. It was a very sad week when he was not eating...

Some very stupid and stubborn people were incapable of understanding some very basic legal concepts of reasonable care, and of taking responsibility for your own actions, if i remember that thread correctly ;)

On topic, :(

After a suitable period of mourning, get a new kitten. You'll be unhappy without one, and it will help you remember the good times with the old kitty :)

I have an odd question. What was it like for her to die? Did she go quietly in her sleep?

The reason I ask; I haven't had a dog or cat long enough for them to die of old age. I did however have 4 ferrets that each lived for 5-7 years and they all went out horribly. Thrashing, convulsions, squealing etc.

Wondering what I'm in for with my dog and 2 cats.

I wasn't actually there to witness it, but I think it was similar. Not really squealing so much as gasping and convulsions. I have two ferrets, and they're getting up there in years too. :(
