My cardomain rating went down..

So...with all the money you have in mods and the car itself...couldn't you just...buy a nicer car?

I don't know if I'd call it rice or not...I'm still amazed that you bothered with a Corolla.

Not really -- I paid 3k for the car, and less than that in mods.

And no, at the time I couldn't buy a nicer car. I'm happy with 40mpg and high 15-sec passes in the 1/4..at least for now. 😛

Very tastefully done. ALMOST a sleeper (The rims ruin it. And the taillights. And the window sticker.)

But, uh, my minivan ran that quarter mile time STOCK.

Sylvania Silverstars..ricelights?

Edit: or the clear corners..?

EyeMWing: Those rims are stock on 1993-1997 Geo Prisms..they're not aftermarket 😛 The Falken Ziex 512s on the rims are probably worse for the sleeper look than the rims.. 😛

Thanks for the input, btw!

Personally, I'd say its a bit on the 'ricey' side of things. Not too bad though... If you lost the clear corners and the N20, then id' be less inclined to call it rice. 🙂 (not that i've got anything against either of those-- i'd love to hook up nitrous in my car 😀)

Ew. I meant the "clear corners" ... but Silverstars? At least spring for the real thing next time there's a groupbuy going on somewhere. 😛

How the hell is nitrous oxide rice? 😕

Pardon my innocence, but what's the 'real thing'?

Did you actually run, or is that a professional driver's magazine time? 😉

i dunno-- i guess i just view it as the cheap way to do things.... Anybody can strap on a bottle, it takes a lot more time/skill/or just money to do engine swaps / turbos /... etc.... that will cause major performance gains.

I'll lean a bit towards money -- I was quoted $8000 for a custom turbo..I could get one done for under half of that, but:
1) There is only one kit for my car, and it's not too great
2) I can't afford to have my car not running for any period of time
3) I can't afford to spend much on it at the moment
4) I don't have a garage

I got an excellent deal on the n2o, or else I wouldn't have purchased it..the entire kit (Nitrous Express wet kit), purge, and remote opener for $475..

Actual HID (High Intensity Discharge) headlights - you know, the ones the Silverstars promise to imitate the look of.

Ah..I was actually going for clear white light, since I can't stand OEM yellow-ish..I did have 'fake HIDs' a while back, though. I still prefer those over OEM 'halogen' bulbs.

HIDs are quite pricey, no? Also illegal if not OEM?

I never ran it myself stock, but I did in fact run 13's after some fairly quick and painless mods (Minus balance shafts, minus MAD WEIGHT, plus boost, plus BOV, plus bignastyintercooler, plus freer flowing exhaust, plus extra fuel injectors in the intake). The stock # came from one of those wacky turbododge summbitches who ride around in k-cars and minivans from hell, whose vehicles I patterned mine after.

The "cheap way to do things" isn't rice. Rice would be slapping the decal on and claiming you have the system. 😛

Edit: I don't have stickers for anything inside my car -- ACT, Fidanza, Nitrous Express, Tokico, EL Prototypes..I should make a PS's version with all of those, just for kicks. 😛

They are? I guess I don't drive behind too many Corollas.
