ROTFLMFAO! 76,000 miles is "high mileage"? You ought to get almost three times that amount out of the car. Crap, my car has 137,000 miles on it (last car was 217,000 and running fine when I sold it) and I consider that to be moderate mileage at the worst.

Besides, since your parents own the car, your (ignorant) desire to keep miles off of it is a moot point. It's their car and they can do what they want with it.

EDIT: For comparison, I own a Porsche. A Porsche that I bought with 100% of my own money, and that is becoming rather rare. I let my parents borrow it whenever they want.

217,000? My car has about 100,000 and i being thinking for the last what kind of car i should get when i sell my current one.Im currently driving nissan altima 1995. I would never in my life drive a car that has so much millage.

217,000 miles and all-original engine internals (alternator and water pump replaced at 195,000 miles). Still ran perfectly when I sold it. Any well-cared-for modern car will easily last 200,000 miles. My family has not yet gotten rid of a car with less than 150,000 miles on it.

good for them.I personally not that lucky.Find that when car gets to around 100,000 that is when allot of problems start with the car.

Stop whining, if my parents wanted to use my car, I'd let them. But they don't because they don't like the fact that it's dropped and almost on the ground.
