My car was not meant to be clean

I'm down in LA for school, living in an apt complex..so I have no ability really to manually wash my car, which I am pretty obsessed with keeping clean. The windshield especially was getting really dirty and made it hard to see out of, especially when the sun would be setting and shining into my car, or at night when HID's would flare into it.

For the past few days then I've been driving around looking for a gas station that has a drive through car wash. I go to at least TWENTY, and absolutely none of them have a car wash. Back at home there were at least 3 within a few miles of my house.

The only car washes I do find are the ones where a bunch of guys do it for you manually, but I don't want to have to spend my time waiting for a bunch of strangers to touch my car..but rather just let the machine do it really quick for me.

I then go do a search for one, and end up finding a couple of Shell's around here with drive through car washes. The first one I find is about 3 miles from here..which in LA takes about 15 minutes to get to.

I then go out there, get lost for a little bit..but eventually find the big Shell sign on the street it's supposed to be on...and it ends up being closed, as in fenced in and being renovated or something.

I didn't know where the second closest one was since I didn't expect for the one gas station that'd be closed like this would be the one I wanted to go to..so I go home and look for the second closest one.

This one ends up being 8 miles away, and since it's later at night it only takes about 15 minutes to get to. I end up taking a couple of highways to get there (the 405 and 10 to you So Calers), fill up my car, purchase a wash for $5 (they ranged from $3-$8)..pull up to where the car wash tunnel is, enter my code..and voila, I pull in and the machine does it stuff and gives my car its first much needed wash after about 3 weeks.

Content with the situation then I start heading back home, when what do you know..it begins to RAIN down here for the first time since SPRING back in May/June. Of all the nights for it to begin raining again, and of all the times of day for it to begin, it had to happen right when my car was shiny and new again. Not only that, it wasn't a nice hard rain that sort of cleans your car, it's a light sprinkle/drizzle that creates wonderful dirt spots all over your car.

I try to avoid using my wipers as much as possible since those are pretty dirty and it'd end up smudging the windshield pretty badly..but alas in the end my windshield, and rest of my car is just about as bad now as it was before the wash.

Cliff's:

*car needed wash, went to 20 gas stations and couldn't find a single one that had a drive thru wash
*end up finding one on internet that's down for construction, then find another one
*go to that one, then it rains and dirties my car again

you know, even if your car is getting dirty, there's these things at gas stations called squeegees and they exist for the sole purpose of cleaning your windshield. you should try them out sometime.

No motorized brushes washing your car.
