I'm just trying to fgure out the differences. I really really like WRX (im european, its the whole rally thing..., but its way outta my price range.
I drive a '96 talon TSi - Turbo AWD with 5 speed. I looked at the specs of both of the cars and heres what i got:

Talon 210hp / 214 lb-ft 2900lbs AWD

WRX 227hp/ 217lb-ft3100lbs AWD

So technically my car should have just about the same performance as WRX right ? (please check on the talons weight tho, im not really positive on that)

EDIT:

Both cars are AWD and i jsut got a set of 17x7 rims with tires :)
I havent had any problems with it, and consumer report says its a really good car :)

Dont forget that talons are identical to mitsubishi eclipses...

i'd like to point out that the talon TSi is a disaster on wheels. My girlfriend's brother has one and it has been a POS from the start. The engine caught fire, head gasket blew, drive shaft fell off, etc. I told him not to touch it, oh well.

The Talon Tsi is also AWD...

Yeah but going over 40% throttle on the talon almost guarantees some sort of important mechanical failiure.....

Why not post the torque #'s of the Talon? The WRX is floating right around 230/ft lbs or so. HP ain't everything.

215 rings a bell. Not positive, though.

Talon 210hp / 2900lbs AWD

WRX 227hp/3100lbs AWD

This doesn't tell me beyond the maximum output of the engine at near redline. You'd have to look at torque vs speed and speed vs power graph.

My brother's car has approx. 400+ hp, and approx. 550 ft/lb's of torque....

WRX seems so weak :p

Whoops. Just looked, 217 ft/lbs for the WRX.

Being that close together, it'd come down to gear ratios and driver skill.

Don't think so, the Talon IIRC has a 0-60 time in the 6's while the WRX is in the 5s. There's a number of factors you didn't include in the comparison.

Ok, CR says eclipses and all of their derivatives are sh!t (black dot in reliablility, I have been reading them for years). That said, WRX is 237 hp, proabably a little faster, plus a little more accomadating rear seat than a talon.
