On Nov. 12 I was stopped at a red light when the driver of a Ford Explorer apparently didn't see the light or me and the other 2 stopped cars. She hit me at full speed (~65mph) offset to the driver's side. This knocked me into the car in the next lane. We spun around banging on each other several times and finally landed facing 180 degrees from where we started. They had to cut me out of the car. I wound up with 6 broken ribs, a broken arm, and a concussion. I spent 8 days in the hospital, 5 of which were in the ICU. While in the hospital I got a case of pneumonia that was resolved before they let me out.

My wife got lucky and only wound up with a mild concussion. I was the only one involved that was seriously injured.

You'd have been fine if you had a lifted truck or SUV.

Sweet Jesus. Well I'm glad you are alright. That could have been much much worse. Although it was pretty bad.
This is why men's car insurance rates are higher.

WOW! Looking at those pictures you are lucky to be alive. Glad to hear you are doing better. Hopefully the insurance company doesn't jerk you around and it gets resolved in a timely manner.

Good to hear you're OK. When I was in high school, on the night before my second last exam in Grade 12, I was hit almost exactly the same way, though I only sustained a concussion. I could have deferred the exam the next day, but I didn't and it was my best mark of the year :)

Thanks guys, I'm still recovering at home. Thankfully, I work IT in a school system. I get 2 weeks for christmas and I can make up the rest of the missed time over the summer. This way I don't actually lose any time or pay

Knocked some sense into you? lol.

OP, glad to hear you are ok. PLEASE tell me you are taking every last dime from that whore who did this to you.

It reminds me of that phucking whore that killed a cyclist but only got a traffic ticket because her parents where filthy rich.

Also, if you tell me the lady that hit you was on her cell phone.... I will flip out at the next woman I see swerving while texting her "peeps"

Thank God your alive! What car were you driving when you got hit, the car is so mangled I can't tell what it is. I'm thinking about trading up to a bigger vehicle after seeing this.

Holy shyte man!

If someone would have been sitting behind you they would have been crushed!

That's horrible luck to have it happen at all but you're very lucky to be able to pull through and recover like you have.

I'm betting you'll be getting a new car with side airbags now.

Best of luck to you on your continued healing.

Glad you made it. The Camry did really well absorbing the impact. Even the back seat still had room to survive, not in great shape, but to survive.
