My car insurance is expired and Progressive won't reinsure for anything less than 6 months!

I am moving overseas before the end of the month and need to get temporary auto insurance. Does anyone know of a company that insures for less than 1 month?

I might actually need this too. My policy is up at the end of June and I could be moving to Canada soon after.

Just remember their cars have square tires and don't let Terrance and Phillip lure you in.

You already screwed yourself by letting it expire, now your rates will be a lot higher.

Exactly as others have said buy 6mo policy. Pay installment for 1-2mo's that you need and cancel, they'll prorate and refund whatever you didn't use. Shouldn't have let it lapse though, make sure you let them know so you get accurate quote or they'll change price when they check your history.

Work. ;) My hope is to get San Francisco.

I should also add that I would be getting a free car in Canada, meaning I wouldn't need to take mine.

Could my dad put my car (that I own) on his insurance while it's sitting at his house if I go to Canada? Or would I need to keep my insurance?

be careful because they might charge you a cancellation fee if you cancel you policy before the 6 months is up. some company's charge a cancellation fee and other's don't..
