My Canon A70 has the dreaded E18 error.

From what I've read my camera is pretty much history. Apparently the lens is jammed. Does anyone on this board know anything more about the infamous E18 error on cannon cameras? Can I at least salvage it somehow?

canon doesn't cover it? You'd think a problem widespread enough to be infamous would at least be covered under warranty

Google canon and e18 and you'll see what I mean.

From what I've read, no they don't cover it.

this sounds too simple to work:

e18 fix

someone said turning the camera on and off really quick cleared it...

maybe this:

crack!

I received the E18 error on my A40 when it was still under warranty. it was graciously repaired by canon. :)
