so i'm off running errands today while my gf is taking a nap at my house (much closer to campus than hers, hence napping here) when the cable installer comes to turn my cable on again - long story, they say i didn't pay a bill from april, but it took them till now to figure it out. anyways, she happens to be getting up and changing to go back to class and has no idea that he's there since he had no need to get inside, only outside connections needed anything. she's changing her shirt and looks out the window, and since its afternoon, the sun is coming right through the blinds letting you see both ways through them. sure enough, outside is the cable installer - staring right at her changing w/ what she said was his tongue hanging out of his mouth. when she told me this, i immediately called the cable company and filed a complaint with them, but i'm feeling very violated at this, even though she just kinda let it roll off. the cable co said they would send it through human resources and deal with it, but that doesn't seem enough to me. anything else i can do about this??

Tell your chick to stop parading around naked in front of the help, and you'll solve this problem alot faster.

I understand how you feel and do not wish to justify the behavior, but... what if you were a cable installer, and you looked up and noticed in the window a good-looking woman with her shirt off? You might stare for a moment with your tongue hanging out. While lacking in class and professionalism, it is a natural human reaction.

At the very least stay on the cable company until you're sure something has been done...they may have just been blowing you off, unless they've had reports about the guy before. Anything else, I'm not really sure...I'd be furious if somebody like that (or anyone, for that matter) did that to my girlfriend.

Good point, but I'd still be pissed.

Why do you feel violated? Did he stick it up your arse? Get a life. Your GF was parading and he was watching.

Yes, to deny that she would not have caught our attention would be to deny our natural instincts.

Right, so you'd prefer a severely distressed cable installer, one who looks away in disgust at the sight of a naked woman? I understand how you feel, but you can't really blame him for looking. Your girl should keep her eyes open :)

I worked for a while as a Utility Locator (worst job ever!!) and it involved going into yards without the homeowners knowing. I made sure I never looked into back windows for this reason. It was bad enough when you scare the crap out of people running around in the backyards past the windows as it was.

the point is that the blinds were closed....he got lucky at that time of day....my window is set very high on the house, so its not an easy one to get to see in, so there was some effort after just glancing to see her.

but perhaps all of you are right, i should just let it go if she's ok with it

As a cable guy ( :D ), and as a young human male in general, I would've stared in shock (lust? ;) ) for a few seconds at least. When I quickly came to my senses, I would've duck and run.

And proceeded to tell my cohorts how I got to scope out a naked chick. :D

Really? Like I always say, "ATOT sure could use more pathetic YAGTs" ... that's usually right before I scream and pull the M16 with 203 underbarrel out of my duffel bag and open fire into a crowd - because I've finally lost all sanity.

Oh, and even if it's okay with your girl, never stop defending her and looking out for her. It's your job. :)

Perhaps you need to wonder what else happened that she didn't tell you about...

Case closed.

so being modest includes having to walk around fully clothed in your own home with the blinds closed now?
