Yea I'm posting on a similar rig though technically not mine. Went the AMD route for fun because I haven't been CPU throttled in eons.

That's it? My i5 work box (not even my Titan gaming box) is faster.

Are you looking at CPU speed or GPU speed? An i5 is $100 more than the 6300, it's going to be faster. What are your build's specs?

i5 3570 non K
CM Hyper 212 EVO
G-Skill 16GB DDR3 1600MHz
Samsung 840 Pro 128GB
Assorted HDD's
Gigabyte H77M-D3H
Gigabyte GTX 650 OC (non-Ti, just to put the boot in hardware acceleration*)
CM HAF 912
Win 8 64-bit

*yes, Kepler doesn't support the 11.1 feature set, but few programs actually use it, so meh. Besides, I've always found any half decent dedicated GPU makes Windows move its ass faster.

Well, you have a better CPU, twice as much RAM, an OCed GPU, (My card may be better, IDK) and a faster OS, it's not really a competition, I didn't have $1.5K to build my PC. EDIT: My card is better.
