ok so i've been out of the loop for a while(5 years to be exact since i bought my last PC), and consequently i'm a freaking noob now when it comes to hardware. i need a new desktop computer because my current one is old and crappy. I plan on buying my new computer at cyberpowerpc, alienware or some other custom builder website. I just need you guys to tell me which parts will give me the best bang for the buck, and also which parts to stay the hell away from.
I will use the computer mainly for gaming. I need a computer that can run the new games like Call of Duty 4, Battlefield 2142, etc.
What should I put in my PC? I need:
1. Cool looking case
2. Good mobo
3. good processor ( is AMD or intel better?)
4. good graphics card
5. Drive that can read DVD, CD
6. 1-2 Hard drives depending on price, i need at least 100g total space
7. Power supply ( how much power do i need??)
8. memory, how much memory should i get?
9. Sound card vs motherboard audio (can anyone even tell the difference?)
Once again my budget for my new desktop PC is around $1,000 give or take a couple hundred. i already have a monitor. Thanks in advance.
