My buddy has a compaq presario SR1055Cl and installed AOE3 on his comp. He didn't like the way the video ran so he wanted to put a x1600 into it. His roommate was like yea that will work no problem gefore he checked with me or a forum or anything in the way of research. So they put the AGP card into the tower and it doesn't fit so they cut the card to fit. It finally worked but when they shut if off that night it will no longer post. he was looking for some sort of solution to getting the computer back working. They tried to take out the video card but it still won't post. The PS in the comp is currently 250W and they were thinking if a new PS were put in it might work again. Anythought would be great

NO I'm not making this up.... and no I don't have pics. When he told me this I was just in amazement at how he could be so naive but now that it's been done I'm going to try and help him remedy the problem so he won't have to build a new rig.

my only guess would be to reset the CMOS....however since they claimed it "worked" when they cut the card... I have a feeling they are just joking with you.

Was it a PCI express slot?

no it's a AGP card and I don't think they are trying to joke with me, since my buddy is hella stressed about 800 for a new comp.

I don't know.... They said that the card had an extra L shaped piece of metal that didn't fit in the agp slot so they cut if off. I personally think he is F'd but He doesn't want to accept that option yet.
