Well said by jr member, that is what he needs to do! :) hope for the best for your friend though, that is one hell of an accident :) I'm sure you'll get the car totalled and the money for your car, ur medical expenses, and maybe for pain and suffering, but the latter can only happen when you have a good lawyer! :) GL!

1. Did you call the cops?
Yup. The first thing I did once I came to a complete stop after being hit was dial 911. I was taken to the hospital in an ambulance and my car was towed home.

2. Did he have insurance?
Yes he had insurance. Already contacted both mine and his.

3. Hopefully you have insurance, you can either file a claim with your insurance or his. They'll pay the medical bills for you.
Answered above.

4. If he has insurance, or you have insurance and it covers you, then go see your DOCTOR ASAP! Also, go see a Chiropractor ASAP. You will need to do both to fully recover.
Went to my doctor today and going to physical therapy this week.

5. If you wait too long to do so, your medical claims may be viewed by the insurance company as phony.
Answered above.

6. Chiropractor is important, because your doctor will only give you medication which masks the pain and you won't feel the tissue damage. A chiropractor will actually help you determine the full extent of your injuries for your lawsuit.
Yup, doctor prescribed Vicatin.

7. Get a LAWYER, the adjusters will tear you apart if you don't have a LAWYER.
Oh yeah, did that too. Even before picking up the accident report or calling the insurance company.

I just wanna say that this forum rocks. I love the advice and all the comments. Even better than at the suby forum where I posted. :D

Well the insurance company still hasnt come by to look at my car. This is going to take forever. I'm gonna call my lawyer and complain about how slow they are working. (They told me to do that :D )

So now I'm rocking a phat Ford Taurus. This thing rides like a effing boat. It actually makes me nauseous. I think I'll bring it back and get the 03 Corolla they had. Smaller, but it wont feel like a boat.

I also had a buddy of mine who just so happens to be an adjuster, take a look at my car. He was able to find some things that I hadnt noticed.

1) The passenger rear suspension is pushed up toward the front about a 1/4 inch.

2) If you feel along the gap of the hood and fender, along the driver's side its above the fender and on the passenger side its below the fender.

3) The driver's side rear quarter is also tweeked a bit. Enough to make a seem inside the trunk crack open and taillight is no longer flush with the quarter.

Definitely lots of damage but he still believes that it wont be considered totalled. Comes close but it will be a tough call. I guess I'm gonna have to wait and see what Allstate says. From what he tells me, Allstate is horrible to deal with when they have to pay out. But then again, I'm sure all insurance companies are. Wish me luck!!
