The only dangerous part of a seal is his mouth. Really? You couldn't handle a seal? You couldn't handle, like, even ONE bite to beat his ass or roll him over or beat him a few times to put him on the defensive so you could escape to your car?

Um, why would that have been necessary? I just walked away, and I didn't have to harm an innocent seal in the process.

Almost the same thing happened to me today!

I was laying in bed surfing the web, and my daughter came in and gave me a kiss. My tomcat hissed at her.

Maybe just a little :^D

My tom's a bit of a shithead. He swats at her a lot when she walks by him. If I pick him up, get him good and pissed off, and put him back on the floor, there's a pecking order for his revenge. If his sister's close, he'll hit her. If my daughter's closer he'll go after her. If I'm the only one available, he'll wait till my back's turned, then swat at the back of my legs :^D

He's a weird critter. I know he likes me, but he's very temperamental. He likes being pet, but only when he does the petting. If you try to rub his head, he jerks it away. You have to hold your hand still, and he'll rub it :^D I still haven't figured out if he's just playing, or if he's challenging me for alpha status :^D

His sister's a complete sweetheart. Very gentle and affectionate. I'm gonna miss them both when they're gone. I like the girl's company, and the tom makes me laugh.

WTF is that stuff around it? looks like algae or photosynthetic bacteria growing on the rocks and he's been eating some dead innards of something. :thumbsdown: Looks way too bright green to be natural lichen, must be paint?

Seals are cute for the most part and actually seem friendly to me, though I have to admit only being close to them a few times. But if this guy was as big as you say and you angered it yeah that might be scary. Not sure about a brush with death though 😉

My mom's cat is the same way. You piss her off and she goes after the kittens (well they're like two or so, but they're the youngest so my mom calls them the kittens), and if she can't find them, the dogs are next.

Looked like some kind of moss or something, I'm not sure. It didn't look quite as bright in person, not sure why it looks like Predator blood in that picture. Definitely not paint.

The stuff that looks like guts is just some weird red-colored sea vegetation that's been washed up. It was all over the beach along with lots of mulched up jellyfish due to recent storms.
