I vote to name him Snorgleflop. Somebody trademarked that in another thread but I bet they'd let you use it. 😉

Unless the cat enjoys playing with water.

One of my roommates got a kitten; I tried a cheap little watergun to "educate" it on some of the rules. No good. It just liked playing with the stream of water.

hah, my cat hates water. i always look like frankenstein after giving her weekly "bath". now i just toss her in turn on the shower head and close the sliding door. wait 15 minutes and she's done. (i'm kidding about the shower thing 😉)

Seriously? You're supposedly a guy, right? I think it's time to turn in your man card if you haven't already!

😉

Cute kitten, but that's it.

Very nice pictures! Do you need a DSLR to get depth-of-field like that? I have this camera (I think that is the model number) fwiw.

Anyway, I LOVE ME SOME KITTIES. I want one so f'ing bad.

That camera has a small sensor, which will make it more difficult to get a shallow depth of field. But with that much zoom you should be able to make it work. To minimise your depth of field you want to zoom in as much as possible and get as close as possible to your subject. Turn the wheel on the top of the camera to 'A' (aperture priority) and use the smallest possible f-stop number (2.8 when zoomed out, 5.0 when zoomed in on that camera).

Try practicing with some random objects on a table to get a feel for how it works. Good luck
