Good deal - Thank him for me.

Here's hoping the rest of our soldiers also get home safely.

Ask him how he felt about going to war based on a lie.
How about being supportive of a man who was worrying for the safety of a loved one, hmm?

In a way its a question I'd like to see answered by many servicemen although probably not phrased like that. I would like to see how many of them agree with our actions over there, especially since they've been there. You can still support them as a person for doing what they had to do while not agreeing with our motivations.

When you are in the military you do what you're told. When I was sent to the Persian Gulf for Operation Desert Storm I accepted it without bitterness, though I was sad to leave my newlywed bride so soon. We'd only been married for a month when we set sail.

Bingo

Their feelings are not a factor in the equation. Soldiers follow orders.

Edit: Go back to P&N, where you can flame the U.S. to your hearts content.

You're right. I should send you to fight for something no matter how you feel about it. That went over REAL swell in Vietnam. Doofus.

This is my last reply to your thread crapping.

In Vietnam, the U.S. Armed Forces were a drafted force. The current forces are volunteer. Big difference.

AMDfreak, I apologize for feeding the troll in your celebration thread.

It's not being sent to war that's the problem. It's being sent to war under false reasons. If I say "attack country X because they stole from us" and then later I say "oh yeah, country X didn't steal anything", how can the lives of the people sent to war be justified? I feel bad for your brother if infact he feels bad about it. I am concerned and I care. He isn't a bad person, that was never implied.

You are correct except a lot of people volunteered before the war broke out and certainly before they knew they were being lied to. I'm sure tons of people wanted to go fight in Iraq either way which is fine, but I'm not talking about those people. I'm very glad his brother is fine, I just hope he didn't go through it against his will.
