My little brother is 17. He was pulled out of class today by the sherriff and taken to Juvenile Hall. Apparently, last weekend, my brother and a friend got in a fight with some kid (the kid broke the windshield out of my brothers truck over summer). Anyway, my brother and his friend kicked the sh!t out the the kid, and apaprently a shoe counts as a "deadly weapon" now (according to the sheriff)....

get a good lawyer, if his record is reasonable, he'll be back in no time. You don't mess with someone's truck man...

Next thing you know, using your hands in a fight will constitute use of a deadly weapon.

Fight that one to the end, because its BS.

A shoe!?

So if I smack you with a piece of cheese, does that count?

If only Austin Powers could see this...

Thats so silly. If he took the shoe off he could pretend its a weapon. Tied to the end of his foot its just a damn shoe.

I was arrested for that, along with a few other charges, when I was 15. Had an ugly fight with my dad.

I see it from 2 sides ... kid who broke window needed a good ass kicking if it was intentional. If it wasn't ... your brother deserves it. 2 v 1 is lame ... if it was 2 v 1 whole time ... they both deserve it for being pansies. If your brother said nothing about the window ... that is pretty much his own fault. But if the window in my car was intentional smashed ... I'd be out to beat someone too.

There is no reason for a Private Citizen to have a shoe! Only Cops and the Military should be allowed to have shoes.

The law is not about justice, but following the letter of the law. You are about to learn that the hard way...just like I did!

A good lawyer is the ONLY real defense you brother has. You MUST play the game.....and it will sicken you!...not to mention rob you of every cent you have...

Two on one, that's not so good is it. As for a shoe, depends on the shoe and how it was used - have you seen American History X?

Sounds like your brother needs to go to jail for a very very long time!

Bullsh!t.. if someone smashed his window and the cops never did sh!t about it, it was good and well time for him to take action.

best thing here is to get the kid to drop the charges. might take some more "force" tho.

i have seen it work in attempted murder charges before.

in the trial ask the following:

if shoes are considered deadly weapons, then why is everyone allowed to wear them in jail?

The other kid called the cops. That's lame. Go kick that kid's ass. Remember to take off your shoes.
