My brief review of the Evercool Turbo2 universal VGA cooler. Update #2: I'm a dumbass/jackass. Also VF900-Cu.

See chart for temp changes:

..........................................Stock GPU cooler & XP90.......Evercool Turbo2 & XP90...........VF900-Cu & Big Typhoon
GPU idle.....................................50c...........................................35c.............................................33c
GPU load....................................80c...........................................48c.............................................51c
CPU temp @ GPU load...............44c............................................37c.............................................33
Sys temp @ GPU load................37c............................................33c.............................................34c

Test done with my 7800GT at 485/1150. I ran rthdribl to stress the card for 15 minutes. Room temp is appx 22c.

Installation was very easy. Probably took 15 minutes from start to end, taking my time and being careful. Search google for more thorough reviews that cover the installation process. Link to installation and supported cards.

Noise is about the same or quieter. My other fans are louder than the stock 7800 fan, so I can't really tell a difference.

While I still don't know why my idle temps went from 35c to 46c with the Evercool Turbo2, it certainly wasn't the Turbo2 making all the noise.. it was the stupid northbridge chipset fan under my video card! I unplugged the chipset fan and now my computer is nice and silent and not running any hotter without the fan on.
I didn't figure out what the noise was until after I put the VF900 on, so I don't know how quiet overall my system would be with the Turbo2 installed, and I really don't care to put it back on. I'm getting idle GPU temps of 33c so far with the VF900. I'll test load temps in a minute.

Hey, that looks kind of like the stock 7900GTX cooler.

fits the 1800 series so I imagine it would fit the 1900. I wonder if it is better then the accellero II.

Update:
This thing is a POS. Quality is zero. I change my original opinion. The fan is now quite loud and my idle temps at stock speeds are 46c even after removing it and cleaning it and applying AS5 instead of the stuff it came with. I now have a Zalman vf900-cu on the way. I wish I ordered it in the first place.

Well, it's a little late to tell you now, but the Accelero X1 is a better performer.

I've seen reviews saying that the X1 is better, and I've seen reviews saying the VF900 is better.

I figure I am better off with the VF900 because I can use it on now on my 7800GT and a x1900 when I upgrade later on. If I went with the X1 now, I would have to buy an X2 or something else later.

Have you tried lapping it? I just found out that the reason why my KuFormula VF1 sucked for my X1900XT was due to the finish on the base being f-uped after I removed it and reapplied AS5. Apparently small imperfections on the base make a big difference.

Accelero: 42c idle, 51c load
VF900-Cu: 38c idle, 46c load
I didn't think it would happen so soon, but as you see, the new Zalman VF900-Cu has beaten my previous champs: the Arctic Cooling Accelero. Not only has it beaten it hands down, there's another critical component to this : the size. The Zalman VF900-Cu is much smaller, thinner, and just as quiet as the Accelero. Very interesting indeed.

I think it's something with the fan.. it was pretty quiet it at first but now it's making a lot of noise. I'm just gonna throw it away once I get the VF900cu.

Well, that's the first one I've seen to come to that conclusion.
