My BP6 *IS* dead :( RIP

Confused

Elite Member
Well, i have tested all the possibilities, different CPUs (tried 1x 400, the other 400, 2x400, 1x366, the other 366, and the original of 2x366), different RAM (1x256mb, 1x128mb crucial, 1x 64mb crucial), different vid cards (Voodoo 3 PCI, GF2MX 64mb AGP) and all of these combinations give me the same thing....nothing but a long beep followed by a short beep.

I found a beep error code listing thingy on the net, and for that beep code...it meant system board error 🙁

So now i have a pair of 366s and a pair of 400s without homes, and no (easy) way of getting any BP6s here in the UK (eb*y.co.uk never seem to have any 🙁 at good prices, the ones they do have either come wiv CPUs/RAM and/or are like £100 for the board)

So if anyone wants to offer me anything for these CPUs, so i can get a little towards a PC-Chips 810LMR and Duron 1.2 or 1800+, then PM me. Otherwise please pay your respect for this board 🙁

Confused 🙁

Why not donate them to the TeAm Beowulf project?

I'm sure someone would even be willing to pay you for your shipping costs to get them over here to the US...

🙁 Your not alone... I lost 2 MSI 694D boards 2 days ago. (6 hours apart). Both seems to have the same problem, capacitors near CPU 1 were expanded. No one locally sells these capacitors. Still undecided if I'll attempt to fix these boards (3 total - 1st one died a month ago). When these capacitors show these signs, the computer keeps on rebooting.

FYI, Compugeek.com sells a dual cpu boad by ACORP for $40. The only problem is that it only do dual PIII - no dual celeron:disgust:

As a former owner of a BP6, I feel you loss. 🙁 THough I sold mine to upgrade to an Athlon setup, I must say that for the bang for the buck, that was a great system. And it kept my house warm in the winter. 😉
