My Boss offered to buy me a new home computer as a bonus. What should I get? A 1GHZ Compaq? Please help, I would like your advice. Thanks in advance.

Killbat are you INSANE??????????/

......... only 512MB? WTF? 🙂

How about 2GB RAM and 1GHz AMD CPU OC'd to 1.5GHz? 😉

Guys, Guys, Guys we all know that a P233 MMX 32mb Ram would be the best deal for your money. Quit filling his minds of bogus computers😛

Uhm.. I think the key words there were "home computer", I'm pretty sure his boss would be a liittle pissed if he asked for a $10,000 server.

How much does your boss know about computers? Would you want to put your own machine together? Depending on his position you can probably get away with building/custom-ordering a $2,500-$3,500 machine. As to what you should get - what is it that you want to use it for?

Moosenuckle, if your boss insists on a proprietary system, get a Dell or Micron... but like some of the others, I would just build one personally if given the choice.

BTW, guys, since it appears that none of you got it; he's making fun of Paulson with this thread.

Yes Russ I think most got it but what I don't get is how you could push anything that was not sold by you. Where the hell is your sense of business here!😛

Thank God little Elian is free at last!

Our company started to sell their older computers to the employees (P350's loaded for $50). Is this a good deal? It's actually a double edged sword. They make you sign an agreement that the computer is for you and not to be resold. Thats not the worse part. They now have home projects for you to work on at home. For many, 8 hours of work a day is enough. To bring home your work and to consume all your time working is too much. Beware of bosses bearing gifts.
