Wow, I didn't know people still got this since the advent of modern sanitation and antibiotics.

isnt it amazing that with everything we take for granted, illnesses still find a way to us?

It's strep throat left unchecked. The sore throat gets way worse and a deep red rash breaks out all over your body. The first time I had it, I went to a base clinic. The doctor brought in a bunch of new docs, interns, whatever they were and were showing them all of the symptoms I had and how they could determine it was scarlet fever. He said I had a textbook case of it. That was cool. 🙂

been there done that.

You can tell too, it was strep, but it gets really really bad, and the bacteria multiply to the point that you could smell the sickness on me, literally. Of course, this was immediately followed up with a bought of mono... that was one really bad academic semester

Sure you can. Don't take any antibiotics when you get strep and pray it gets worse.

Are people afraid to go to the doctors or something. These clowns go to school for years just to try and figure out whats wrong with me.

I can go to the local eatery and get some punk kid behind the counter, who is preparing my food and I don't even question it. He could be rubbing his rear end in the bathroom for all I know, but damn that burger looks tasty.

Maybe if a Doctor's office smelled of Big Kahuna burger more people would go...

if i'm not mistaken, the scarlet fever is what the little boy had in the Velveteen Rabbit story-- it's why all of his toys had to be burned.
