My boss: "Congrats, go buy the biggest, baddest laptop you can find"

I guess that's my xmas bonus, a laptop that I get to pick out. I've been out of the laptop shopping world for years, so I'm in need of some help here.

Some of my thoughts
- I don't need an awesome gaming rig, I never really game much. Not ruling it out, but I don't need the latest, greatest 512 meg graphics card.
- I love my dad's (lenovo) tablet and think they're a lot of fun, so I'm considering one of those.
- If I can have any laptop I want, should I just a get a MacBook Pro and triple boot between Vista/OSX/Ubuntu?
- The smaller the better. I really like my 13" VAIO right now, so screen size should be between 13" & 15".

So... Anyone just absolutely love the laptop they just bought? Any recommendations would be very helpful.

Thanks

I'd find the most expensive thing I possibly could, and then sell it and buy something I wanted. But that's me.

I would buy the most expensive laptop I could find and... keep it!

Let's be a little ethical here, shall we...?

"Sooo, Andrew, how is that laptop, are you still enjoying it...?"

"Why don't you bring it in tomorrow, I wanna show it to my wife, she likes playing Far Cry and Bioshock, and needs a computer to take it with her on that Hawaiian cruise next month!"

"Hmmm, boss, I dunno, how can I say that... you know... I don't have it anymore, but the money came in real handy..."

So you said you want the biggest and badest you state you want a 13"? Hmm. I just bought an Asus F8 series laptop 14" and I love it's really sexy and executive looking.

Sager link

Just change all the settings for this to the most expensive and you get a laptop with a x6800 (desktop quad core extreme), sli'ed 8700 cards, 4 gig of ddr2...

However if you wait a week or two I bet you could get the 8800 on it since they will be out soon...

EDIT: I missed the part about you wanting a small laptop :D This is a beast, not a small laptop! You can browse their other selections though, they have some nice laptops...

the baddest laptop by far.

Dell XPS 1730 /w SLI Also by far the crappiest battery life. :p

My Laptop, one that was ranked one of the best 17inch.

HP 8710P or the W version.

Those would be my 17 inch choices. The HP has a extra battery slot that can take a small textbook size battery and give it 8 hours on a full charge. :p
