My boot disk isn't booting.

I'm trying to install windows 7 on my new machine but uh.. the boot disk isn't booting D:.

I got the iso file for professional from MSDN-AA and I have burned it to a dvd, put that dvd in new machine, changed the boot order of new machine so that optical drive comes before the empty HDD. After all this I get the message "disk boot failure, insert system disk and press enter".

It's pretty basic but I'm at a loss as to what to do, I was quite sure I burnt the dvd correctly (using nero 7) through the wizard. I've since burnt another 2 dvds via a slightly different wizard and by simply double-clicking the iso file in windows explorer and get the same outcome with each disk.

The disks do not boot in the new machine or the one I am using at the moment. I am very certain the boot order for both machines means the DVD should boot before HDD.

So what am i doing wrong D:

How did i not check that one <_<

When i eject and insert the dvd the autoplay for 'Blank DVD' appears. I guess I'll go try the other DVD in this house..

Did you use the ISO (image) burning function in your DVD burning program? I don't want to be insulting, but not everybody knows you can't just copy the ISO to a blank disk. There will be no .ISO file on the disk where you've burned an image.

Steps to burn an ISO-image in Nero 7:

Launch Nero.
Choose Recorder / Burn image
Browse to the location of the ISO file and select the ISO file you want to burn to cd/dvd
Check the option "Finalize CD (No further writing possible!)
Click on "Burn" now.

Does it come up with a message "Press any key to boot from dvd"? If it shows that and you don't intervene it will continue on to the next boot device.
