My bookmarks are getting out of hand...

Anyone have any suggestions for organizing bookmarks? My folder is just starting to feel like a desk that's piled with paper. I need to build a filing cabinet so I can actually make better use of all this info.

Wait, what? You make folders.

Yeah, I have bunches of folders, it just seems like I try to make "buckets" for all the stuff to go into, then I find another bookmark which doesn't fit in any buckets, and I have to make another one. I guess I was just looking for suggestions on "labels" for the buckets. Maybe my categories are too specific.

Sorry, I couldn't let a thread go by without some kind of anger in it 😀 It just wouldn't have been an ATOT thread!!

Mine are out of control at home too. I have a few folders, but there are so many old bookmarks I never use anymore, and tons of stuff that problably doesn't work.

That Scrapbook thing looks cool, but I'm having a hard time figuring out exactly what to do with it. Is there a way you can import your current bookmarks into it?

Just delete some of them. I cleaned out my bookmarks a few weeks ago, removed a bunch of garbage. Sites that were 404, or just stuff that I didn' need anymore.

Maybe I'm just missing it, but how do you get your current bookmarks into Scrapbook without adding each one individually? Is there an import feature I'm not seeing?

I have a total of about 5 bookmarks on the direct links toolbar for sites that i visit everyday - such as ATOT.

Other than that I don't use bookmarks - thats what google is for.

My bookmarks are organized pretty well. I have about 15 main folders and then about 20 assorted subfolders. Never have a problem finding anything. One thing that helps is that one folder is a catch-all for things that don't fit into the other folders. Periodically that gets cleaned out for dead URLs or if I have enough links on a subject that it warrants a new folder for that subject.
