As the title says, my body is awful at regulating heat. Well, not so much regulating, its just awful at being cold. I'm always warm. Always. Winter, summer, any climate I'm warm. That alone isn't that big of a deal, but its problems like:

Taking a shower, getting out, drying off, having my forehead sweat for about 20 minutes.
Walking to the corner store at a reasonable pace, stopping, being extremely clammy.
Sweating my ass off during sex...

... that are quite annoying.

I consider myself to be in great shape, too; I ride my bike 10 miles a day (over the Brooklyn Bridge and back, I might add), don't smoke, don't drink too much...

Any ideas? Could it be my diet? Is there something possibly wrong? And no, I'm not a doctor

Its almost as if I dont own a working thermastat lol
Im hot, then cold.
On with blankets, off with them.
I cant find a happy medium in any season.

Have you ever been checked for Hyperthyroidism?

Not to throw you in a different direction, but my friend has problems with her hypothalamus (part of the brain). Her body has trouble regulating temperature, especially when she's active. She overheats very easy.

I would talk to a doctor about it since it may be more serious than you think.

Whats your ethnic background? Some people and ethnicities just sweat alot relative to others.. Nothing abnormal about it. I sweat from the same things you do and my dad is worse.. You don't say u feel overly hot.. Don't worry about it

I've been the same way my whole life - hell, the items you mentioned even made me chuckle a bit from recognition. My face, chest, back, and shoulders all sweat far more than anyone around me. Oddly, my armpits sweat a normal amount and my hands virtually never sweat. I'm in pretty damn good shape and am fairly lean, so it's definitely genetic. In my case, other than being annoying, I don't think it's a real health problem. If you actually feel yourself getting overheated and don't feel well, however, you may wish to discuss this with a doctor.

I wear a t-shirt through the winter and in the summer, I sweat like hell just standing in the heat. I was built for cold, which is strange cause my ancestral blood line is in a pretty damn warm place.

I'm half Mexican, half German. My mother (German) once told me that she experiences the shower issue, but my father is not in my life so I'm unsure about his side of the family

I do feel overly hot, though, so I think I will schedule an appointment soon to see what is happening

I have much the same issue myself. I overheat real quick in hot climes, and become more or less out of commision in hot and humid weather. I'm fine with shorts and a t-shirt during winter here in northeastern Ohio, and I'm pretty lean as well. My parents are both from very hot parts of China. I did get my bloodwork done once and the doctor said that there's something different about my thyroid I think. Nothing bad, just different, and it's causing me to be warmer than most people.

It sucks because my forehead sweats a lot. When I played tennis my sweat would often blind me and it was annoying as well. But like others, my hands and armpits hardly sweat at all.

It's frustrating, because my parents have always, and still do, yell at me to put on more clothes when THEY feel it's hot. They just can't get it through their skulls that what THEY are feeling isn't what I'M feeling, and that the reason I don't have as much clothes on is that I'm COMFORTABLE with how much clothes I already have on. But instead they continue to treat me like some retard child who can't figure out when to put on clothes when he becomes uncomfortable.

There are a lot of causes of the symptoms you describe. You may have a problem with thermoregulation due to thyroid/endocrine/metabolism/nervous/vascular disorders, or it could be hyperhydrosis (over sweating). It could also be something as simple as a need to change your diet, maybe too much salt, iodine, caffeine, drugs you are on, anxiety. It sounds like something you have had your whole life? Either way it's best to speak to your family doctor about it. I believe it's pretty rare to find people who are actually "too hot" for long periods of time. Many times the sensation of feeling warm in rested states has to do with superficial blood flow and/or nerves.
