My computer has been for not more than 10 minutes and my board temp has rocketed to 36 C while my CPU still remains at 33 C. I opened my case and the board fan is still spinning. Anyone know what I can do?

I'm going to take a guess here: you're using Motherboard Monitor (MBM) to monitor you system, correct? I'll bet that you have the wrong label on the wrong sensor.

IOW, the MBM little box says "CPU Temp" but it's connected to the MOTHERBOARD thermistor instead of the CPU thermistor. Conversely, the Case Temp sensor is connected to the CPU thermistor.

Just go into MBM and switch sensors and all will be well. I do this all the time...it's nerve-wracking. Good luck.

I am using MBM, but haven't switched the sensors at all. It worked fine until I imaged my hdd. I also used Sisoft Sandra to confirm MBM 5 results.

Did one of your case fans die? 36C is not high at all for a case temp. That's what the case temp on my main rig is. it used to be in the low 30's but that was w/4 case fans (hovercraft!) Got rid of two fans and now it's nice and quiet. Not silent, but tolerable.

36C is not a big deal...don't worry about it. :)

No all of my fans are running fine and I checked PC Health at POST to confirm my temps. 36 C isn't the case temp. My case temp is 25.1 C, but the board temp is 36 C.
