My BIOS won't detect my CD-ROM

I tried installing ATAPI drivers for Nero, Rebooted, and neither my CDROM or CDRW were recognized by the BIOS like normal. Does anyone have any idea how to fix this or if theres a way to fix this. I already tried a system restore through windows, but that didn't solve anything.

How do you fix something like this in Windows 95? With 98 and later I can just boot into safe mode and remove the CD-ROM from system -> device manager, but with Win95 it doesn't work.
Nothing's wrong with the CD-ROM because it's recognized if I boot from a floppy containing
VDD-IDE.SYS and MSCDEX.EXE.

have you checked to see if both your ide channels are enabled in bios?
If they are , I would suggest that your ide cable isn't fully home in the motherboard so no devices on that channel are being detected by the system!

I got it working. I can't explain why or how...but that doesn't matter, they are working. Just now I'm getting a BIOS warning. "No 80 pin connector detected" or something to that effect. O well, it works, I'm not going to complain any. Thank you for your help though!
