My wife and I went to see My Big Fat Greek Wedding monday night and it rocked. We both laughed so hard.

One of my best friends is Greek. He took his Brazilian fiancee to see the movie and she freaked. She was so worried that his family would spit on her during her wedding. I reassured her that I would be the only one spitting :D

agreed. Hilarious movie, especially if you're of greek nationality. I went with a guy from work who said it was almost exactly as they portrayed it, except for the part where they put that stuff on everything.

Definitely was a good movie...I'm a little biased though, Nia Vardalos is from Winnipeg (where I live). The Greek Orthodox church where they got married in real life is about 2 minutes from me.

Yeah it was quite funny.

I seen it back in June when it was still relatively unknown. Definately a pleasant surprise.

yea, me too....I thought it was pretty funny, but I'm truly surprised about what a big hit it is! I thought that movie 20 Dates was pretty close in humor, but that didn't do nearly as well...weird.

My wife and I saw it this past weekend, we loved it. The movie will appeal to anyone that is from a culture that is very family oriented. I call it "My Big Fat Mexican Wedding", it reminds me so much of our relationship. I'm just not dull as the guy in the movie, but the misses kept saying all through the movie, "that's my family!"

I guess I'll have to help do the barbequeing on the front lawn when we visit them at Christmas time.

I saw this movie twice. It is hilarious! And unbelievably realistic. My dad says it was almost exactly like his wedding (he's English, my mom is Greek). It's so funny when you can understand everything the characters are saying.

"Hey Ian, we're gonna kill you!" I loved how they were always screwing with him (I used to do that with my friends when they came over).

I walked in to the theater and couldn't believe the average age of the audience.
Let's just say that almost everybody in the seats had already collected their first S.S. check some time ago.

It was still a funny flick ;)

Heh..

It was okay.... my girlfriend and I went and saw it at the 10pm show... which was a mistake, we got bored, tired.. and ended up leaving before the movie was over. :(

You know what I can't believe.. Why do we support the freaking theatre concession stands? They're probably one of the biggest ripoffs on the face of the planet. $3.50 for a 32oz soda? 2.75 for a box of candy that normally costs a dollar? 4.25 for a bag of popcorn? It's absolutely outrageous. And then they have the audacity to have signs posted that say "No outside food or drink".
