I'm really sorry.
You are going to get mad, if you have not already. It isn't fair, and you have a right to get angry. Please take care, don't hurt yourself or others, but get that out.

I'm sorry for your loss

My school had a guy die the Monday after Thanksgiving
He hit snow and slid into a tree

I'm sorry for you

sorry to hear it.

Sorry to hear that. I can't even imagine what it'd be like to lose my best friend. It was hard enough for us to go away to different colleges across the nation from each other.

I hope eventually things return to some semblance of normal for you.

His name was Jacob Stephen Gordon. He was 16 years old, was driving to his dads house for dinner and hit black ice and slid into oncoming traffic. He had a 2001 Toyota Celica, none of the airbags went off. The right rear of the car was demolished and when I saw it (his mom asked me to get his things from the vehicle) I could barely stand. He was an honor roll student, and the best friend anyone could have. When I was in high school, my senior year I had family problems, and they took me in for three months. The world is never going to be the same again to me. If anyone ever played a game with him or talked to him in another forum, he usually used the name jacob42369. Im going to miss him. I dont know how to deal with it. The week before final exams and right before christmas. His mom already had presents for him. He had his computer with him in the car (he was a computer geek like me) and me and another friend of his are rebuilding it just like it was for his sister. Why do bad things happen to such good people?

🙁

Damn. 16. He was just starting the best times of his life. 🙁
I am 32 and I think that life was too short, I couldn't imagine having only 16 years.

:brokenheart:

One of my best friends died at the same age and for me his life will always be a mile marker--that is, I'll be doing my laundry, walking to school, cooking dinner, or some other mundane thing when I'll think of him and look back on all the extra years I've had and wonder what he would've done with that time.

The only thought that helps me cope is at least he got those 16 years. We're all just thrown into consciousness and given a chance to screw around in this world, and for my friend he had fun in the years he was given. I can only hope your friend had such a good time. Remember life is short, his was just a bit shorter, and now that you see how fragile it is don't waste yours. The only practical advice I can give is be there for his family, it can really mean a lot to know he had good friends.

sigh that sucks 🙁. Everyone drive safe...
although I'm not sure what anyone can do when they encounter black ice. That's just tragic bad luck right there.
