I hate best buy AND fry's.


No one there knows WTF they are doing. I avoid ever going through the doors, which I haven't since last year's black friday when I got my gf3ti200.
 
ahhh.. i'd never go out on black friday.. good story though 😛

the gf wants me to go shopping tomorrow.. will it be as bad as today?

So what you do is ... DON'T open it!!! Wait for X-max, then take it back and say yeah... My brother gave this to me from hawaii... I need to trade it in for a G4...

I doubt I'd waste my time waiting in line ... But, I also didn't think I'd be reading the story or... posting one...

 
bah, thats nothing compared ot the randomly snaking line inside fries that went down so many isles that it doubled back on itself more then 3 times. it went around the whole store eventually, u know how big frys is.

Long, but a good read. I felt like I was right there with you. I think a lot of us have probably been through some type of VERY similar scenario. Pulling for all of us who either pre-bought or waited in line. Never fun, the feeling of finally giving in to a big dissapointment, but always a rush when some kind of plan comes together. Glad something worked out for you!. I passed when I saw the long lines still wrapped outside the building at 7:02 am. Then after going in to work (as scheduled), found out I didn't have to work after all (cool, thinking Fry's by now). The lines outside the Anaheim Fry's store were like multi-folded ribbons just to get in. I went back to Fry's in the afternoon & got the PNY Ti4200 64MB for $99.99 after rebate, a soyo case w/ approved 300 watt PS $25-$25MIR=$0, cold cathode & lighted fan $5 after MIR, combo deal: Soyo dragon light & 1.7 Celeron for $99 after rebate.BTC 40x burner $29. An unplanned plan came together after all for me. Hope all of you had a good experience.🙂
 
You know what? Anybody who gets screwed on black friday deserves it. A million times over. Anyone idiotic enough to lose sleep and stand in line in the freezing cold waiting for an electronics store to open so they can save $20 on what is quite possibly one of the most frivolous purchases that can be made deserves whatever sh!t they get and more!

I left out the funniest part. During the time I was walking through the store looking for the "floor stocked" cards, I stopped a blue-shirted teenage Best Buy employee and asked him where the video cards on sale were located. "Video cards?" he asked. I opened the circular and pointed to them. "Oh, I think there is a stack of them over there," he said as he pointed to a stack of optical mice. I said, "Where?" He walked over and pointed at the stack of optical mice and said, "There."

That kid was either stupid as hell or had the absolute driest sense of humor of anybody I've ever known.

I read the whole thing... you should feel honored.. Normally I wouldn't bother, but that was pretty well written. Had to see how the story ended. Congrats on your purchase/sale. What are you going to buy your lovely wife with the hundred bucks? 🙂
