Ugh, those SATA ports ARE in an awful place. If you sleeve those SATA cables in black, I'll bet that it'll make things more subdued and less eye-catching...

damn, thats pretty nice. I wish I could put in the time to do that. Unfortunately, I get too impatient with my wiring, and I really dont' care enough. As long as they're mostly out of the way of the fans ....

Plenty of Nforce3 boards were like that, I think just copying the reference design.

Sleeving or using split loom doesn't make the cabling any cleaner, but will make it look cleaner, which is also a GoodThing?.

Impressive, but no matter where the SATA ports are located, they are a hell of a lot easier to deal with than Ultra ATA. Mine was such a cluttered mess for a while that my CPU kept overheating because there was no ventilation. I finally replaced the ATA ribbons with actual round cables and it has been much better, but still looks like "crapola" in comparison.
