My barton at 2370mhz :)

2500+ Barton AQYFA 0343 RPMW
Asus A7N8X Deluxe R2.0
2x512mb PC3200 (Hynix)

I can't increase my FSB beyond 200mhz...even 202mhz causes instability! I have ruled out the CPU as the bottleneck as it runs at 2300mhz stable if I set it so that the RAM runs at 83% of the FSB.

The chip is multiplier locked so my only overclocking option is the FSB.

Woot!!! I just figured out the problem...it was the RAM.

With just 1 stick, I booted up at 2300mhz and it was Prime stable for 1/2 hour. Then I added the second stick so that they were in slots 1 and 2 on my motherboard (this disables dual-channel). Now I have it up and running at 215x11 (2370mhz) at 1.8v. It's been stable for the past 1/2 hour and counting. I'm hoping to be able to run at 220mhz FSB for a total of 2420mhz. I didn't expect my barton to overclock this high at all. 🙂

Thanks. 🙂

I had to bump the vcore up to 1.85...it wasn't 100% stable at 1.80 or 1.825. It's been chugging along with Prime95 for an hour and a half now without issue. The CPU temp is 49C with my SLK-800A and 92mm Delta. I'm extremely happy with how my rig turned out. Although the newer bartons are locked, they seem to overclock like champs.

Um....its not exactly too good to run it at 1.85 volts. What are the temps? Still thats a sweet overclock though I wouldn't expect it to survive very long at those levels. But hey...😀

Um...try reading my above post. 49C at full load, which is fine in my books.

Well...shame of shames, I had to back the chip down to 11x210=2.31ghz at 1.75v. The chip just didn't want to run at 2.37, even at 1.85v (it hard-crashed Prime95 after 3 hours). I suppose it's not so bad, especially since I can now run my memory at CAS2.5 instead of CAS3.

I run mine at 11x213 at 1.8 and its golden, 11 3 2 2 timings too 😀 I can boot at 2.41 but wont stay stable at 1.82, probably would at 1.85

Nice o/c. Same as I am... 11x215, but @ 1.75v 🙂

Wow...1.75v...what stepping do you have? Has it passed Prime95 for 24h? Very nice. 🙂

I'm actually not sure of the stepping and I don't feel like taking my HSF off 😉

I ran p95 for a good 14 hours, ran it overnight and into the morning

Well at least you were man enough to admit it, rather than just say you overclocked to xmhz when you posted but then crashed...

Nice oc man. ^^;

my dual's run 2.35 @ 1.8v but they dont half get toasty! 170watts of heat from the cpu's alone - I am thinking those 2 15k scsi drives I just got might be the final straw.
