it's natural for your back to be curved in a little right? but my curve is pretty extreme, with a deep crevace on my lower spine.

what would have caused this? is there a way to reverse it?

Could be spinal bifida. Could be that you're a super pumped body builder with some huge delts and traps. Could be any number of things.

Go see a doctor. Asking medical advice on here is about the same as asking advice on girls. Lots of theory and speculation, with no real practice to back it up.

Go to a doctor, then report back to us. I have what I think is a slightly more arched lower back than normal, and thus I'd like to know. :p

If you have a beer gut get rid of that. :)

Seriously, your abs do more than attract the hot chicks on the beach. Your body works in opposing muscle groups to do most things, your abs support your spine from the front side. Strong abs help to support the spine, preventing many minor backaches.

Strong abs + strong back muscles = healthy spine.

i knew a girl like that. she was curved to one side. everytime she would try to get her socks to line up and and when she looked in the mirror it was always lopsided. some major surgery fixed that.

Have you ever had a sports physical?
I had scoliosis (sp?) and that's when it was found.

I used to have to go get Xrays every year, and I had a couple CAT scans and MRIs. In the end it pretty much turned out that for some reason I had one leg a little longer than the other, and it all straightened itself out as I got older.

sounds like scoliosis a little, but more commonly gives you problems with side to side anomolies, not like you describe

It's natural.
Your back muscles surrounding the spine protrude, making the spine look recessed.

i dont think you're refering to a curve that would indicate scoliosis,
you're sway backed, like me. look into pilates and loosening your lower
back muscles. Look into a calesthentics book and see about strengthening
your core and lower back muscles as well as stretching.
